Jean Rigby - District Councillor

North Turton with Tockholes

Delivering on Promises...

It has been my pleasure and an absolute privilege to represent North Turton with Tockholes over the past few years.  I have seen faces come and go over that time, but one thing remains true, each village is an individual.  Each village has different needs as much as each person has different needs.  But together we form a strong union.
Together we can ensure that we are not overlooked by Blackburn council, that our needs are met.

North Turton is developing, and we must ensure how it will develop. We must guide, much like a growing child. If we do not nurture that child and respond to it’s needs, then it will not grow as we want it to.

We have seen much of central government policy of late, with our schools admission policy from Bolton pretty much excluding our children to the education they want and deserve. The attitude of the pen pushers in local authority over our historic buildings, as Turton Tower is fighting for it’s life.

We have come far, more money than ever is coming into the area, our playgrounds are looking better.  Our children are getting more and more facilities.  The roads are becoming safer.

But we still have a little way to go.
