Road Improvements for Drivers and Pedestrians
Jean is aware of the importance of safer roads for both drivers and pedestrians. During the last 3 years resurfacing work has been done in Belmont Village, Broadhead, Edgworth and some stretches of rural roads around Tockholes. Discreet traffic calming measures were also installed on High Street in Belmont.
On many of the rural roads around North Turton with Tockholes drainage and ditch work has been carried out. Labour's 25-year record of poor highway maintenance has resulted in the present condition of the roads. Potholes are unfortunately a fact of life, but a recent Government initiative of £100 million nationally to manage potholes will help to fund the pothole repairs.
